Student Success Centre- McMaster CVITP Tax Clinic

Advanced registration is highly encouraged to guarantee your spot. Drop-in appointments will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis, but there is no guarantee your tax return will be completed if you drop in. Registration is valid for only the hour you have selected.

Visit our Tax Clinic from 5:00 PM - 9:00 PM in Gilmour Hall, Room 110 - Student Success Centre office to have your tax return prepared for free by one of our trained tax volunteers. Please note that you are required to have a SIN or Individual Tax Number in order to file a tax return. 
 
Please bring the following slips/receipts with you
Government & Student ID (MacCard)
T4 - Employment Income Slip
T4A - Scholarships, Bursaries, Honourariums
T2201- Disability Tax Credit Form
T5 - Investment Income
Rent Receipts for 2025
Medical Expenses - UHIP Premium and out-of-pocket expenses
Tuition - T2202A - Please consult with your parents if you are transferring up to $5,000 unused tuition
Moving expenses to Hamilton, Ontario, to attend School  (Over 40 KM's) - Transportation
Child Care Expenses
RRSP Contribution
Charitable Donations
Last Year's Assessment Form (if you have it)
If you are married, you will also need to provide your spouse's tax information
 
If you have never filed before, we will also prepare taxes for previous years. Please remember to bring your prior year's slips/receipts in order to do this. Filing your taxes on time will allow you to collect your GST/HST credits, rent rebates, Ontario Trillium Benefits, and register your tuition credits that can be used to reduce taxable earnings in the future! The filing deadline is April 30, 2026, for the 2025 Tax Year.
