WHAT: Going Global Workshop - International Opportunities and Available Funding

This workshop will be composed of five parts:
 
Part I - An Introduction to Erin Pease: the journey that took her around the world and landed her at McMaster University

Part II - An Orientation to the Global Experience Portfolio: who we are, what we do and how we can help 

Part III - The Global Experience Award: the funding mechanism to help every student embrace his/her/their global citizenship

Part IV - A Discussion of Currently Available Global Experiences (Note: we are hoping to arrange for student speakers to present on their experiences as past program participants)

Part V - Q&A

FACILITATOR: Erin Pease is our new Global Experience Coordinator. With more than 15 years of experience in the refugee protection sector, Erin has worked with Canada's federal immigration department, NGOs in Canada and abroad, as well as the UN Refugee Agency. Erin has lived, worked, studied and volunteered overseas, in countries like England, Japan, Egypt and Tanzania. Erin will be facilitating this workshop. She is keen to answer any questions you may have about how you can embrace your global citizenship in service to yourself and the global family of which we are all a part.
 
IMPORTANT: The Global Experience Team is keen to democratize access to global learning opportunities and international experiences for all students, irrespective of background, ability and/or need. We are motivated to support every student on campus to feel empowered to embrace his/her/their global citizenship and cultivate an identity that is globally informed, if so desired. Please keep in mind that global experiences can include experiential learning in Canada and abroad, as well as virtual opportunities that take place from the comfort of home. We encourage every student with interest to sign up. Please never forget - Going Global at McMaster is for everyone!
